Les liquides de fracturation contiennent des dizaines de tonnes de compos\u00e9s chimiques, jusqu\u2019\u00e0 700 produits diff\u00e9rents, dont plusieurs sont reconnus pour causer des cancers (canc\u00e9rig\u00e8nes), des malformations g\u00e9n\u00e9tiques (t\u00e9ratog\u00e8nes), des troubles de la reproduction et des glandes (perturbateurs endocriniens), en plus de tuer les organismes vivants (biocides)<\/span><sup><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><a name=\"sdfootnote2anc\" href=\"#sdfootnote2sym\"><\/a><sup>2<\/sup><\/span><\/sup><sup>,<\/sup><sup><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><a name=\"sdfootnote3anc\" href=\"#sdfootnote3sym\"><\/a><sup>3<\/sup><\/span><\/sup><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">. Les liquides de fracturation contiennent \u00e9galement du radon, une substance radioactive<\/span><sup><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><a name=\"sdfootnote4anc\" href=\"#sdfootnote4sym\"><\/a><sup>4<\/sup><\/span><\/sup><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Nos \u00e9gouts sont du petit lait en comparaison de cette soupe chimique. Aucune usine de traitement des eaux ne peut d\u00e9polluer les liquides de fracturation. Dans les endroits du monde o\u00f9 la fracturation hydraulique est encore permise, les liquides de fracturation sont entrepos\u00e9s \u00ab\u00a0de fa\u00e7on s\u00e9curitaire\u00a0\u00bb dans des bassins de r\u00e9tention ou r\u00e9inject\u00e9s dans les puits afin d\u2019\u00e9liminer les risques de contamination en surface. Mais ces pr\u00e9cautions n\u2019ont malheureusement pas emp\u00each\u00e9 la pollution atmosph\u00e9rique ni la pollution des nappes phr\u00e9atiques, en plus de provoquer des tremblements de terre<\/span><sup><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><a name=\"sdfootnote5anc\" href=\"#sdfootnote5sym\"><\/a><sup>5<\/sup><\/span><\/sup><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Au Qu\u00e9bec, on innove. Les eaux toxiques de la fracturation hydraulique seront rejet\u00e9es directement dans le fleuve Saint-Laurent, un \u00e9cosyst\u00e8me marin exceptionnel, habitat de baleines, de homards, de salicorne et d&rsquo;autres esp\u00e8ces indig\u00e8nes des eaux et des rives. Comme si cela n\u2019aurait pas d\u2019impact sur la sant\u00e9 des mammif\u00e8res marins. Comme si les tonnes de produits toxiques ne se retrouveraient pas dans la chair des poissons et crustac\u00e9s qui sont p\u00each\u00e9s dans le golfe, ni sur les plages et dans l\u2019air qu\u2019on respire sur la C\u00f4te-Nord, en Gasp\u00e9sie et dans les provinces maritimes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Les \u00ab\u00a0bonnes pratiques\u00a0\u00bb en usage dans l\u2019industrie pour faire de la fracturation hydraulique recommandent de ne pas forer horizontalement \u00e0 moins de 1000 m\u00e8tres sous le plancher d\u2019une nappe d\u2019eau souterraine. En effet, les statistiques montrent qu\u2019il n\u2019est pas rare que des failles verticales s\u2019ouvrent dans la roche lors des forages, laissant remonter les gaz et le liquide de fracturation jusqu\u2019\u00e0 550 \u00a0m\u00e8tres des puits et m\u00eame davantage. Mais au Qu\u00e9bec, on innove. La fracturation est permise \u00e0 partir de 400\u00a0m\u00e8tres sous le plancher des nappes souterraines<\/span><sup><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><a name=\"sdfootnote6anc\" href=\"#sdfootnote6sym\"><\/a><sup>6<\/sup><\/span><\/sup><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">. Par ici la pollution!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Des experts ont d\u00e9montr\u00e9 que l\u2019exploitation des hydrocarbures sur l\u2019\u00eele d\u2019Anticosti serait un gouffre financier. L\u2019\u00eele n\u2019a m\u00eame pas les ressources en eau pour fournir l\u2019industrie. Sans compter les infrastructures pour le transport et le stockage du gaz ou du p\u00e9trole qui n\u00e9cessiteraient des investissements publics de l\u2019ordre de 14 \u00a0milliards de dollars<\/span><sup><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><a name=\"sdfootnote7anc\" href=\"#sdfootnote7sym\"><\/a><sup>7<\/sup><\/span><\/sup><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">. De plus, un collectif de scientifiques ind\u00e9pendants a d\u00e9montr\u00e9 que le potentiel d\u2019hydrocarbures pr\u00e9sents sur l\u2019\u00eele avait \u00e9t\u00e9 sur\u00e9valu\u00e9<\/span><sup><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><a name=\"sdfootnote8anc\" href=\"#sdfootnote8sym\"><\/a><sup>8<\/sup><\/span><\/sup><sup><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">,<\/span><\/sup><sup><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><a name=\"sdfootnote9anc\" href=\"#sdfootnote9sym\"><\/a><sup>9<\/sup><\/span><\/sup><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">. Ce ne serait donc pas pour exploiter les hydrocarbures que le gouvernement a permis d\u2019y effectuer des forages avec fracturation. Peut-on penser qu\u2019Anticosti servirait plut\u00f4t de laboratoire permettant \u00e0 l\u2019industrie de tester ses m\u00e9thodes en vue d\u2019autres exploitations dans des zones sensibles au Qu\u00e9bec?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Alors qu\u2019il est interdit aux citoyens de rejeter leurs eaux us\u00e9es domestiques sans traitement dans un cours d\u2019eau et de laisser tourner leur moteur de voiture au ralenti plus de trois minutes, le gouvernement de Philippe Couillard donne toutes les licences pour que se d\u00e9veloppe chez nous l\u2019exploitation d\u2019un hydrocarbure au moins aussi polluant que le charbon<\/span><sup><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><a name=\"sdfootnote10anc\" href=\"#sdfootnote10sym\"><\/a><sup>10<\/sup><\/span><\/sup><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">. Et cela, dans le contexte de la crise climatique, alors qu\u2019il faut tout mettre en \u0153uvre afin de stopper nos \u00e9missions de gaz \u00e0 effet de serre. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Les forages avec fracturation hydraulique sur Anticosti sont bien plus que le sacrifice de \u00ab\u00a0quelques arpents de neige\u00a0\u00bb.
